The finder sends the selected sharpening method, knife use, optional angle, strop requirement and earlier-model choice to the same site's matching service. It compares those answers with researched model facts and returns a shortlist; it does not add the answers to the product catalogue or establish that a particular knife can be clamped or sharpened safely. A set of answers may be kept in the current browser tab's session storage to restore it when you revisit a review. Use the clear-answers control to remove saved answers; how long session storage persists is controlled by your browser.
Source-site pages do not send finder choices to Amazon. When you actively open a central BuyerShortlists purchase page, validated public choices are carried in the URL fragment so the central page can display them separately from an assessment scenario and provide a return-to-finder link. The fragment can be edited and is not proof of compatibility. It is not included in the retailer URL; only the central page has an active retailer link, which you choose to open.
The finder does not request a name or account. Do not enter personal information in an answer. As with other network services, technical request handling and access logs depend on the current website host; this notice makes no broader claim about the host's retention practices.
