Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Does the Professional Precision Adjust include a guided angle readout for a 20° kitchen setting?
The exact package includes a digital angle indicator and the manufacturer gives a continuous 15°–30° adjustment range, which includes 20°. The guide says to zero the indicator on the same benchtop surface before setting the rod; verify the correct knife bevel separately.

Work Sharp lists a ceramic serration rod in the WSBCHPAJ-PRO box and includes a serration procedure in the Professional guide. This is a manual, scallop-by-scallop operation, not an electric serration slot.
Explore this need in the finder →Does SKU WSBCHPAJ-PRO include the Professional Elite carry case or its 1200–3000 resin-bonded plates?
The standard Pro product page does not list the Elite case or the 1200, 2000 and 3000 grit resin-bonded plates in its box. Work Sharp lists a carry case as a compatible accessory and describes the resin-bonded plates with the Professional Elite; check the SKU so an Elite or upgrade package is not confused with WSBCHPAJ-PRO.
Explore this need in the finder →The Work Sharp Professional Precision Adjust (SKU WSBCHPAJ-PRO) is a manual benchtop sharpening system with a metal frame, removable V-block clamp, guided rod and digital angle indicator. Its current US product page lists a 15°–30° continuous adjustment range, seven 1-by-6-inch abrasive surfaces, a ceramic serration rod and a small-knife table. It is a more fully equipped package than the basic Precision Adjust, but it still requires the user to position the blade and make the sharpening strokes. This document-based review draws on the exact-model product page and the manufacturer’s Professional Precision Adjust guide; no hands-on testing is claimed.
The important package difference
Work Sharp lists five diamond grits—220, 320, 400, 600 and 800—along with a fine ceramic surface and leather strop. The box list also names a separate ceramic rod for serrations, an adjustable angle indicator, a benchtop base, a clamp stabilizer and a small-knife table attachment. The abrasive sequence gives this model a repair-to-finish path, while the serration rod and small-knife table address two jobs that the standard WSBCHPAJ box does not document. The company lists a three-year warranty and gives the system’s weight as 7.5 lb. The “Professional” in the name refers to the hardware and package, not an automatic sharpening cycle. It remains a manual V-block-and-rod system. The metal chassis and clamp are designed for a more rigid benchtop arrangement than the compact standard model; the digital indicator adds a readout when setting the guide angle. Work Sharp’s guide instructs the user to zero the indicator on the same flat surface as the sharpener, attach it to the rod for angle setup, and remove it before sharpening. That is useful if repeatable settings matter to you, but blade clamping and knife geometry still affect the relationship between the displayed guide angle and the bevel you are maintaining. What the manual asks you to do
The process is a sequence of deliberate setup choices. Secure the base on a stable surface, attach the chassis and clamp, position the knife in the jaws, and make sure the blade is supported without interfering with the clamp. Set the angle with the indicator and choose an abrasive according to the edge’s condition. The manual’s technique begins at the heel with light pressure and longer strokes along the edge; the user works until a burr is raised along the length, then switches sides and proceeds through the finer surfaces. After the abrasive sequence, the included strop can refine the edge. Work Sharp says the supplied strop is plain rather than preloaded, so check whether you need a separate compound for the finishing routine you have in mind. The dedicated ceramic rod has its own serration method: the guide calls for matching the rod to each scallop and using light strokes, then lightly honing the back. The small-knife table provides another setup for short blades that may not be convenient in the ordinary clamp. These are real package capabilities, not a reason to assume the device accepts every blade profile. The manufacturer’s materials still advise checking clamp fit and maintaining careful control of the knife.Compare the exact sibling rather than the family name
Compared with the Precision Adjust Elite, this Pro package trades the Elite’s compact Tri-Brasive handles for larger 1-by-6-inch abrasives and adds the metal frame, digital readout, stabilizer and small-knife table. Compared with the Professional Precision Adjust Elite, it has the five conventional diamond grits, ceramic and strop, but the product page does not list the Elite’s 1200/2000/3000 resin-bonded plates or rugged carry case. Work Sharp lists the case as a compatible accessory for the Pro model, so include its cost and storage needs in your own comparison rather than assuming it is in the standard box. The product page’s family FAQs contain capability statements for multiple Precision Adjust versions, including dimensions that specifically name the Professional Elite. This review therefore does not transfer the Professional Elite’s 15-inch or ¼-inch limits to SKU WSBCHPAJ-PRO. I did not find an exact maximum blade length or thickness for this Pro package in the reviewed product page and guide. If your knives are unusually long or thick, verify the exact clamp limits with Work Sharp before ordering.Care and practical tradeoffs
The Professional manual calls the system a dry sharpener, prohibits oil and says that small amounts of water may be applied to the abrasive. The product FAQ gives a broader caution that water can contribute to oxidation and says to dry promptly if it is introduced. Because those instructions are not perfectly aligned, follow the guide supplied with the exact package and dry the metal parts promptly; do not use oil. The abrasives are replaceable, but they remain wear parts, and the setup, clamping, flipping and stroke control are still your responsibility. This is a good candidate when the buyer wants the sturdier metal guide, digital angle setup, and included serration and small-knife accessories. It is less attractive if a light, quick pull-through is the goal, if you do not want to manage a manual abrasive sequence, or if the premium accessories would sit unused. Check that the listing is specifically WSBCHPAJ-PRO, inspect the included seven surfaces and attachments, and confirm blade clearance before choosing it over the smaller Elite or the more complete Pro Elite kit.Key specifications
